Charger roll to conference win
The Chargers get a GCAA Conference road win over Albany Tech 74-56. The Chargers were led by Justin Bridges with 20 points, Tylik Evans had 13 points and 5 rebounds and Kyvon Davenport had 10 points and 9 rebounds to seal the win.
The win puts the Chargers at 15-1 on the season and 4-0 in GCAA Conference play. The Chargers return action at home at the Corral on Saturday taking on GCAA conference opponent East Georgia College , tip off 4:00pm.

Chargers roll to conference win
The Chargers fought off a tough Atlanta Metro team in the first half to roll to a 92-69 GCAA conference win on the road at Atlanta Metro College. GHC led by just 4 at the half , but pulled away with a balanced scoring attack in the second half.
The Chargers had 5 players in double figures on the win, led by Keymont Jenkins with 17 points, Tylik Evans with 14 points, Paris Ballinger with 13 points, Justin Bridges with 12 points, and Doniel Dean with 11 points.
" Atlanta Metro keep the game close in the first half and played really well, we played well and pulled away in the second half." Good conference win on the road , said Charger head coach Phil Gaffney.
The #6 NJCAA nationally ranked Chargers go to 11-1 on the season and 1-0 in GCAA conference play. The Chargers return to action at the GHC Corral or Saturday taking on the #25 nationally ranked Hawks of South Georgia State at 4:00pm
Chargers 116-71 win over Shorter JV
Kyvon Davenport scored 18 points to lead GHC to a 116-71 home win over the Shorter Hawks JV. Davenport was 7 for 12 from the field. The Chargers sprinted out to 68-41 lead at the half.
The Chargers had 7 players in double figures. Kyvon Davenport had 18 points, and 9 rebounds, Doniel Dean 15 points, Tylik Evans with 14 points, hitting 4 three pointers, Will Gibbons and Justin Bridges with 11, and Fritz Lucien with 10 points.
"This was a great game to get everyone playing time and valuable experience, as we will need it later in the year," said Charger head coach Phil Gaffney.
The Chargers go to 10-1 on the season. The Chargers return to action Wednesday Dec. 2nd at Atlanta Metro , tip-off 7:30pm.
Chargers defeat three nationally ranked teams
The Corral was electric tonight as two top ten NJCAA teams in the nation battled out with the #9 Chargers taking down the # 8 Cape Fear College Sea Devils 79-71.
The Chargers saw a half time lead of 37 - 31 slip away as Cape Fear took a 5 point lead at the 4:50 mark of the second half led by TJ Evans with 19 points.
The Chargers fought back to tie the game at 64 with 2:13 remaining and pulled away for the win. GHC defense forced 34 turnovers on the night. The Chargers were led by Doniel Dean's outstanding effort. "Doniel Dean proved tonight why he is an All - American with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and lock down defensive effort."
Also, stepping up for the Chargers were freshman Keymont Jenkins with 19 points, freshman Kyvon Davenport had a double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Tylik Evans with 10 points.
The Chargers have now defeated three nationally ranked teams to go 8-1 on the season. The Chargers return to action tomorrow at the Corral versus Shooting 4 Greatness, tip-off 3:00pm.
Chargers roll over Gadsden State
The Chargers go on the road and defeat Gadsden State 103-87 . The Chargers spread the ball around with 4 Chargers in double figures .
Freshman Tylik Evans had 19 points , Doniel Dean had 16 points, Paris Ballinger had 14 points, and Keymont Evans had 13 points.
The Chargers go to 7-1 on the season and return to action this weekend in the Charger Classic. The #10 Chargers take on #8 Cape Fear College on Friday at 7:30pm.
Chargers go 2-0 in GA / FL Shootout
The Chargers went 2-0 in the Georgia / Florida Shootout winning today's game 89-69 over Gulf Coast State.
The Chargers got out to a fast start leading by as many as 20 points at the half way mark of the first half and leading 42-27 at the break. The Commodores of Gulf Coast cut the lead to 9 mid way through the second half , but the Chargers pulled away for the win.
Charger freshman Kyvon Davenport was unstoppable for GHC scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks, and was 12/14 from the free throw line. Tylik Evans also stepped up big for the Chargers scoring 20 points .
"We played well tonight against a very talented team, Kyvon Davenport had early foul trouble but played a tremendous game in the second half." We are looking forward to hosting the GHC Classic at home at the Corral next Friday and Saturday and having the #9 ranked team in the country Cape Fear College at GHC, " said Chargers head Coach Phil Gaffney.
The Chargers go to 6-1 on the season.
Chargers defeat #11 Tallahassee College
The # 10 Chargers were on the road in the Georgia / Florida Shootout , taking on #11 Tallahassee College . The Chargers got down early by as many as 7 points but behind a pressure defense and great effort off the bench the Chargers went on to a 81-73 win.
The Chargers had 5 players in double figures , led by Justin Bridges with 18 points, Tylik Evans with 17 points, Keyon Davenport with 15 points and 9 rebounds, Keymont Jenkins with 12 points, and Doniel Dean with 10.
" Justin Bridges gave us great effort off bench with 18 points, and Tylik Evans carried us in the first half, it's always good to beat a nationally ranked team, " said Chargers head coach Phil Gaffney. The Chargers go to 5-1 on the young season.
The Chargers return to action tomorrow versus Gulf Coast State at 2:00pm.
Chargers prove too much for Patriots
Keymont Jenkins had 20 points to lead the #10 ranked Chargers to a 92-70 win over the Patriots of Ft. Benning at the Corral on Tuesday night. The Chargers pulled out to a early 13 point lead at the break but the Patriots cut the lead to 2 late in the second half led by the Patriots Ty Barfield with 26 points, shooting 70% from the field. The Chargers responded with defensive pressure to pull away for the 22 point win.
"Our second team did a great job of picking us up in the press going on a 18-4 run to open the game up" , said Chargers head coach Phil Gaffney.
Three other Chargers were in double figures with Kyvon Davenport with 17 points, Tylik Evans with 13 poits, and Doniel Dean with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Chargers go to 4-1 on the season and return to action on the road on Friday versus Tallahassee College , tip-off 8:00pm.
Chargers roll over Gadsden State
#10 NJCAA Nationally Ranked GHC Chargers win home opener
Kyon Davenport scored 23 points, Paris Ballinger had 16 points, and Tylik Evans had 13 points and the #10 NJCAA Nationally ranked GHC Chargers defeated the Raiders of Roane State 84-59 to give the Chargers a win in their home opener.
The Chargers came out strong from the onset with a strong defensive intensity the Chargers are known for. The Chargers led by 20 at the half.
" It was a team effort tonight, with 10 players scoring for the Chargers. We have a long way to go, we just have to keep getting better each week." said Chargers head coach Phil Gaffney.
The Chargers return to action on Saturday at home taking on Gadsden State, tip off 2:00pm.
GHC Chargers get first win
The Chargers were on the road for the second consecutive night versus Tallahassee College . The Chargers are coming off a loss to the #1 NJCAA Nationally ranked NW Florida on Friday night, but they overcame an early deficit to pull away for a 83-76 victory.
The Chargers fell behind early and battled throughout the first half to keep it close closing out the first half with Tallahassee leading 48-37.
The Chargers were behind as much as 13 points in the second half but found a way to battle back with a great defensive effort to pull away for the win.
GHC was led by freshman Kyvon Davenport with 28 , Doniel Dean with 14, and Keymont Jenkins with 10.
The Chargers return to action on Tuesday for their home opener versus Roane State, tip off 7:00pm.
CHARGERS FALL TO DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPION
The Chargers opened the season on the road at the defending NJCAA National Champion Northwest Florida. The Chargers hung in there early battling NW Florida in the first half keeping it close , leading 30-23 at the 5:00 min. mark in the first half.
The Chargers could not hang on and were defeated 98-72 The Chargers were led Tylik Evan with 20 points, Doniel Dean with 16 points, and Keymont Jenkins with 14 points. The Chargers return to action tomorrow versus Tallahassee College.

Lady Chargers roll to win on the road
The Lady Chargers rolled to a 67-40 win on the road at Albany Tech. the Lady Chargers made the long road trip to Albany without their star point guard and University of West Georgia commit Kayla Carter , who was out with an ankle injury.
GHC was led by Georgia Tech transfer De'Ashia Jones who dominated in the paint with 18 rebounds and 16 points , Jones dominated on both ends of the court and Aurianna Broughton stepped up big with 14 points.
With Carter out for the Lady Chargers the point guard role was filled by Taylor Farley. " We played really well on defense and Taylor Farley did a great job filing in for the injured Carter, it was a great team effort" , said Lady Charger head coach Brandan Harrell.
GHC goes to 11-8 on the season and 3-1 in GCAA conference play. The Lady Chargers return to action at home at the Corral versus East Georgia College on Saturday. Tip Off 2:00pm.

Lady Chargers get GCAA Conference win
The Lady Chargers went on the road for a GCAA Confernce game at Atlanta Metro College and defeated Atlanta Metro College 70-56.
Sophomore guard Kayla Carter's double - double led the way for GHC. Kayla had 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assist. The Lady Chargers got out to a fast start leading 37-25 at the half.
GHC had 4 players in double figures , along with Carter's 17, freshman Pam Diokpara with 14 points, freshman Auriana Broughton with 12 points, and Georgia Tech transfer De'ashia Jones with a double - double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
The Lady Chargers go to 6-5 on the season and 2-0 in GCAA Confernce play. The Lady Chargers return to action on Saturday at home at the Corral versus Darton State , tip-off 2:00pm
Lady Chargers roll over Roane State
Behind China Henderson's 13 points and Deana Blankinships's 12 points GHC rolled to a 75-40 home win over the Lady Raiders of Roane State.
GHC had 12 different players score for the Lady Chargers in the win.
The Lady Chargers got out to a 18-12 lead at the first period break and extended their lead to 41 - 20 at the half. GHC turned up the defensive pressure in the second half forcing 22 turnovers and leading by 40 points at one point late in the third period.
"We came out and played with a lot of energy today, I really liked our effort as a team , good way to go into conference play next week," said Lady Charger head coach Brandan Harrell. "We got everyone playing time tonight which will bode well for experience late in the season."
The Lady Charger return to action on the road at Atlanta Metro College on Wednesday. Tip-off 5:30pm
Lady Chargers fall to #11 Walters State
The Lady Chargers fought the #11 Walters State Lady Senators throughout the contest but lost a 8 point lead down the stretch .
GHC lost a heart breaker at Walters State 3 weeks ago 52-51. The Lady Chargers knew going into tonight's game that they would have to stop the Lady Senators Destiny Alston, that was not the case Alston ended the night with 22 points and 5 rebounds.
The Lady Chargers ended the first period down by 2, but lead at the half 20-17. GHC extended their lead to 38-31 at the end of the 3rd period . The Lady Chargers were plagued by turnovers down the stretch, ending the game with 21.
GHC was led by sophomore Deana Blankinship with 13 points followed by De'Ashia Jones with 8 points and 8 rebounds.
The Lady Chargers will return to action on Saturday at the Corral versus Roane State. Tip-off 2:00pm.
Lady Chargers knock off Gadsden State
The Lady Chargers playing for the second day in a row traveled to Gadsden State to take on the Cardinals. GHC had four players in double figures led once again by Georgia Tech transfer De'Ashia Jones with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assist, Kayla Carter with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assist, Auriana Broughton with 15 points, and Deana Blankinship with 14 points and 5 rebounds.
"I am proud of how we spread the ball around, De'Ashia Jones and Kayla Carter both had another good night , good to get a win on the road," said Lady Chargers head coach Brandan Harrell.
The Lady Charger return to action at the GHC Corral on Friday and Saturday as they host the Lady Chargers Thanksgiving Classic versus Walters State on Friday at 6:00pm and Roane State on Saturday at 2:00pm.
Lady Chargers roll to conference win
The GHC Lady Chargers rolled to a 77 - 54 win over Andrew College to open GCAA Conference play at the Corral on Tuesday night.
The Lady Chargers went on a 16-0 run to open the game, leading 24-5 at the end of the first period. The Lady Chargers had a balanced scoring attack with 3 players in double figures, led by Kayla Carter and De'Ashia Jones with 19 points, Deana Blankinship with 13 points, and Pam Diokpara with 7 points and 9 rebounds off the bench.
"We got off to a fast start, did everything right, we got a little complacent after the big lead, but like the way we started, good way to open conference play." said Lady Chargers head coach Brandan Harrell.
The Lady Chargers hit the road for a 6:30pm (EST) tip-off verses Gadsden State on Wednesday.
Lady Chargers defeat Tallahassee College
The Lady Chargers played their second game in a row at the GHC Classic versus Tallahassee College and come away with a 73-65 win at the Corral.
The Lady Chargers were led by De'Ashia Jones with 20 points, Kayla Carter with 18 points and Pam Diokpara with 11. GHC led 18-16 after the first period and extended their lead to 6 at the half.
"We moved the ball around and played team basketball tonight, the ladies gave us a great effort", said Lady Chargers head coach Brandan Harrell.
Lady Chargers battle # 1 Chipola
The Lady Chargers knew going into tonight's game versus the # 1 ranked Chipola Indians that to beat the Indians they would have to have a complete game. The Lady Chargers battled all night eventually falling to the Indians 74-63.
The Chargers fell behind early trailing by 10 at the end of the first period, 24-14 and by 9 at the half, 39-30. The Chargers fought down the stretch cutting Chipola's lead to 5 with 3:30 remaining but could not make the shots when they had the opportunity. "We had good effort tonight but their depth got to us late, they made the shots down the stretch and we didn't" , said Lady Chargers head coach Brandan Harrell.
The Lady Chargers were led by sophomore Deana Blankinship with 16 points and 7 rebounds. The Lady Chargers return to action at home today at 2:00pm at the Corral versus Tallahassee College.
Lady Chargers fall to Northwest Florida
The Chargers return to action Friday at home versus #1 Nationally ranked Chipola College. Tip off 6:00 pm.
Lady Chargers fall to # 11 Walters State
For the second consecutive night the Lady Chargers were on the road in Morristown, Tennessee at the Walters State Classic. The Lady Chargers were taking on the host # 11 NJCAA Nationally ranked Walters State Lady Senators.
GHC battled all night keeping the Lady Senators close only trailing by two , 27-25 at the break. The Lady Chargers keep the game within reach all night eventually falling 52-51.
The Lady Chargers were led by Kayla Carter with 14 points and 4 rebounds, and De'ashia Jones with 10 points and 8 rebounds.
The Lady Chargers return to action on November 6th at the Chipola Classic in Chipola Florida, tip off 6:00pm EST.
Lady Charger win season opener
The Lady Chargers went on the road to open the season at the Walters State Classic in Morristown Tennessee today rolling to a 87-71 over Roane State .
The Lady Chargers fought with the Lady Raiders throughout the first half in the back to back affair eventually leading 46-43 at the break. Coach Brandan Harrell's squad spread the ball around with 5 players in double figures for the night. They were led by Kayla Carter with 19 points and 3 steals, Auriana Broughton with 15 points . China Henderson coming off a knee injury that ended her season last year before the first game scored 12 points, De'ashia Jones had 11 points and 6 rebounds, and Deana Blankinship had 10 points and 4 rebounds.
The Lady Chargers return to action tomorrow versus the tournament host #11 NJCAA Nationally ranked Walters State.
