IT employee awarded by the chancellor of the University System of Georgia

Linda Corbin has worked at Georgia Highlands College for almost 15 years. On any given day, she’s the first person you talk to when you call the IT department.

University System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby awarded Corbin with the Chancellor’s Service Excellence Award, which is given to employees for demonstrating consistently high levels of performance while accomplishing normal job responsibilities as it relates to service for the past year.

Corbin attended the award ceremony at Georgia Perimeter College in October not knowing she would be chosen.

“I was astounded. I could not believe it when they called my name,” she said. “It really makes me feel good to know that I am appreciated for my efforts. I work with an outstanding boss and co-workers that compliment me on my efforts. We all work together as a team. I also work with outstanding administrators, staff, faculty and students.”

Corbin is praised by her co-workers for having such a happy and warm personality each and every day.

“When you really enjoy your job, you want to do your best. I like to treat people like I would want to be treated,” she said.
