Only the beginning for Highlands

A week ago, Georgia Highlands coach Phil Gaffney would have been ecstatic if given the knowledge his team would reach the NJCAA Final Four.
A few days after the Chargers dropped a heartbreaking overtime loss to eventual national champion Northwest Florida State in the national semifinals, Gaffney sounds a bit different.
“It’s funny, because if you would have told me ahead of time what we were going to do, I would have been really happy,” Gaffney said. “But we lost by one point to the eventual national champion. We’re happy about what we did, but we also realize how close we were to something bigger.”
