AAWCC donates to local battered women and childrens shelter
In November, Our House, Polk County's battered women and children's shelter, sent a call to the community regarding desperately needed items for shelter residents. Georgia Highlands College's chapter of AAWCC (American Association for Women in Community Colleges) answered the call by sponsoring a college-wide donation drive to provide the needed items to Our House. Items were collected from employees on multiple campuses and include a variety of personal hygiene products, socks, sheets, diapers, as well as a generous donation of supplies from Angel Express, a Floyd County non-profit.
