3 honors courses offered in Cartersville this spring
GHC is offering three honors courses to be held in Cartersville this spring:
POLS 1100-H: American Government
Ms. Teresa Hutchins
T/R 11:00 – 12:15
CRN: 20583
MATH 2200-H: Elementary (Applied) Statistics
Ms. Camille Pace
M/W 11:00 – 12:15
CRN: 20359
IDIS 1100-H: Interdisciplinary Seminar (required for all honors students)
Dr. Steve Blankenship
T/R 2:00 – 3:15 pm
CRN: 20570
These classes are smaller than traditional courses and allow our best and brightest students (that’s you) to work at a higher level, which makes those courses more interactive, more engaging, and (frankly) more fun than traditional courses. Successful completion of these courses earns you an honors designation on your transcript, which looks great when you go to transfer to a university or career program.
Enrollment is open to anyone with a 3.5 GPA, but space in these exciting courses is limited, so please contact the Honors Director, Dr. Jayme Akers Feagin (jfeagin@highlands.edu) as soon as you can.
If you’d like to know more about these courses or Honors in general, we will be hosting an Honors information session towards the end of the semester. This info session will explain what it means to be in honors, how to enroll in honors courses, and what to expect from the honors experience:
Time: Wednesday, December 8, 6:00 – 7:00 pm
Location: Cartersville (TBD)
