Thank you for indicating you would like to join Georgia Highlands Mentoring Program. By accepting this agreement, you are committed to being an active mentor, and will follow the guidelines outlined here.
Eligibility of Use
The Program, or portions thereof, is available to authorized members of the GHC community, including but not limited to alumni and students, as well as other members of the GHC community authorized by the University in its sole discretion, and is subject to the terms set forth in these Terms and Conditions (the 'Policy'). Your use of the Program indicates you accept the terms set forth in this Policy and agree to abide by them. GHC reserves the right to and may in its sole discretion, from time to time, modify the Program. Your continued use of the Program, after modifications, indicates your acceptance of the modification and the applicability of the Policy to your continued use thereof.
Confidentiality of Participant Information
All participants agree to keep all contact, personal, and any additional information obtained through this Program confidential. The unauthorized sharing of personal information by mentors or mentees may be grounds for removal from the Program, though participants acknowledge that GHC shall not be responsible or liable for the unauthorized disclosure of such personal information by participants or other third parties.
Mentor Confidentiality and Avoidance of Conflict of Interest Form
As a GHC mentor you will be attending monthly meetings at which confidential and proprietary information about ventures may be discussed. You agree that you shall keep such information strictly confidential and will not disclose it to other parties without written permission from the sources of such information.
You agree to respond to mentoring requests, and to schedule and attend meetings within the parameters and expectations of the mentor program.
We request that mentors should not have any relationship with a student affiliated venture or team where there is any form of compensation, including but not limited to equity, options, deferred compensation, and commissions. As a GHC mentor your primary interest in serving cannot be to scout for investment opportunities, new clients, or a job. The key element of this policy is communication and transparency of information. Occasionally, there will be cases where mentors are so excited about a business that they would like to invest or join the team. If you are considering any form of formal relationship with a GHC team or venture, you must notify the School of Business and Professional Dean immediately. You must recuse yourself from mentoring that team, and await a review by the Dean before proceeding with any action.
We suggest that your first meeting be virtual. You and your mentee can decide how to proceed following the initial meeting and decide if you will meet virtually or by phone. Face to face meetings are not permitted unless it is a GHC event specifically created for Mentors/Mentees. One meeting per month is required, however more meetings are encouraged.
Acknowledgment:
I acknowledge that I am voluntarily releasing my name, contact details, employment information, and other relevant information to GHC for the purposes of matching me with a mentee. I will use the mentee information that is released to me in good faith and solely for the purpose of my participation in the Program. I will not disclose information about my mentee to anyone other than the University without my menteeās consent.
Any violation(s) of this Policy may result in immediate dismissal from the program indefinitely. You agree that GHC, in its sole discretion, may terminate your account (or any part thereof) or use of the Program, and remove and discard any Content within the Program, for any reason, including, without limitation, for lack of use or if GHC believes that you have violated or acted inconsistently with the terms of this Policy.
